WUDL March Madness Continues Great Season despite COVID-19

The WUDL March Madness tournament is the last tune-up before the District Tournament and Nationals at the Middle and High School level, and a chance to cement your (or your team's) case for a year-long award. It is also one of the last chances to debate this year's topic, Criminal Justice Reform.

Here are the highlights from this past weekend:

  • Sulser/Deluce (Hardy) won the Rookie Division, and Deluce was the top speaker. They're definitely ready for the Novice Division in April. Debating alone, Corley won 2nd place and 3rd speaker in the Novice Division.

  • Lawson/Joffrion (Eastern) won the Novice Division, and both won speaker awards. This is the best tournament finish in Eastern High School history. We are very excited for the future of these young stars.

  • Miller/Lawson (Richard Wright) continued their strong spring, winning yet another trophy in the Novice Division. They're ready to dip their toes in the JV pool in April before summer camp.

  • Wray/Sise, Ayitey-Adjin/Tchokote, Sobowale/Kelly, and Rogers/Russell all won trophies for CMIT across the JV and Novice Divisions. They've been one of the best young teams in the league this year.

  • McCauley/Sousa (DCI) won the JV Division, and will head to Varsity in April. McCauley/Sousa have qualified to Middle School Nationals, and will use April as a tune-up.

  • Macieko/Bivens (Bowie) won their first trophies in the Varsity Division, despite only being freshman. We are proud of their accomplishments, and look forward to their future stardom.
