The Washington Urban Debate League is dedicated to providing a diverse array of educational experiences to our students.
One way we do so is through field trips and other special programs where we take students out of the classroom and let them engage with lawyers, lobbyists, policymakers, diplomats, members of congress and their staffs, and more to learn about policy-making and politics, the law, government, economics, and activism in action.
Students get a taste of what it is like to work in law, politics, or policy-making for a living, and get to learn from the individuals at law firms, think tanks and government agencies who are literally writing the laws and making the decisions that impact our everyday lives.
